Sonja Trabandt was born in Bremen, Germany and grew up in Kaduna, Nigeria in Africa, she then lived several years at Lake Constance, Germany where she graduated from the international boarding school „Schule Schloss Salem“.
She also graduated from JFK high school in Sacramento, California. The photography education began in a traditional photography company at Lake Constance (Portrait/Industrial/Architecture), and followed by studying design at the university of applied sciences in Potsdam, Germany where she majored in Photo design (Prof.Gisela Scheidler, Michael Trippel, Prof.Lex Drewinski). Having graduated with honors she now freelances on documentary, people and editorial.
